Springtime can be
the most wonderful time to get married, but it
isn't without it's downsides. This article
hopefully will help you avoid some of the pitfalls
regarding Spring weddings.
Weather
One of the biggest
things to keep in mind with Spring-time is that
the weather can be a bit unpredictable, especially
several months out. It is best to consider
the historic weather patterns of the time of year
you plan on getting married. You'll also
want to keep in mind daylight savings time, as you
don't want to find yourself with a hour less of
daylight due to poor timing.
As you get closer
to the day, you want to make sure you have plenty
of large umbrellas for the wedding party available
if needed. Also make sure everyone brings a
jacket if needed, it's amazing how many times this
is forgotten. You don't want your Spring
Wedding to be a soggy experience.
Photography
When thinking of
Spring Weddings, everyone imagines a lush garden
with flowers in full bloom. While this can
definitely be the case, you need to make sure of
the seasonal bloom patterns of where you are
getting married. In the Northern Tier of the
Country, i.e. the north east, trees might not gain
their leaves till early May, and flowers may start
blooming as late as early June. Ask the
reception hall or garden when they normally have
blooms, and what is blooming. If they have
flowers in bloom, and they are crocuses, that
doesn't do you much good. Same things with
trees. As such, you should consider a place with
pine trees or bushes, as that will offer an
alternative background if the trees are blooming
late.
If you are getting
married on a day which threatens rain, be sure to
bring those umbrellas. Also bring an extra
one (and person to hold it) for the
photographer.) A little extra though goes a
long way. Wedding Photography during the
Spring can be wonderful, with a bit of planning.
Motifs
If you are going
for a seasonal motif for a Spring Wedding, nothing
says spring like Daffodils, Lilies, and lots of
greens. You should go with light colored pastel
colors.
