for lovely outside pictures and a nice cocktail
lounge. It is very convenient for those in
Putnam and Dutchess County. The garden could be
a bit bigger, and a backyard location would have been
preferable to avoid the traffic sounds. Fortunate,
pictures don't have sound. |

shore of Hessian Lake, Bear Mountain Inn, recently
renovated, offers a unique environment to have a
wedding at. A beautifully classic interior gives
a unique feel to the wedding, and the location on
lakeshore as well as several available parks and near
locations allows for some wonderful outdoor
photographs to be taken. Caution should be taken
in winter, though, as its location in the mountains
make access an issue in bad weather. |

| For those wishing to have an outdoor
wedding but with class, The Caramoor Center in
Katonah, NY offers such a venue. With an open
cocktail bar, and a tented reception hall, candid
wedding picture opportunities are plenty to be had.
Formal wedding pictures also can take advantage of the
lovely grounds, and many wedding photographers have
pictures from Caramoor in their albums. Caramoor
is only open from mid-May to mid-June and then from
late August to mid-October, so book early. |

Ceola Manor offers
two rooms with great food and a lovely view of Oceola
Lake. It features a beautiful outdoor ceremony
area with great locations for pictures. It is
located right off the Taconic on Rt. 6N, and is easily
accessible from most locations in New York.
Although this photographer especially likes doing
weddings there, Ceola Manor is also a great locations
for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16's and other events.

Catering at Holiday Inn in Mount Kisco offers some
great wedding photography venues for a low cost.
Although the grounds are limited in regards to
available places to do wedding photography, the
interior offers some great places for some group and
individual portraits. A sweeping stair case, a
fireplace, and a unique statue make for some very nice
wedding pictures. For wedding photography, the
Holiday Inn at Mount Kisco offers some suprising
opportunities. |

groups, so it is most appropriate for weddings under

Although Crystal Bay doesn't offer a great layout for

take advantage of benches, the river, and even an old
Canon. |

the Hudson, in Tarrytown NY has what I consider the
best bridal suite I've yet come across. Why is
this important? It allows both wonderful getting
ready pictures, and a secluded place to take the bride
and groom for some very nice romantic pictures.
Couple that with a outside garden (with 10 foot
sunflowers no less), and a Hudson River view, it is
offers a lot of places to take pictures. The only
downside is there is not really a great indoor
location for formals if the weather is bad. |

drive is worth the experience. |

renovated Monteverde at Oldstone restaurant off of
Bear Mountain Bridge Road in Cortlandt Manor. A
perfect location for those wanting to spend a lot of
time taking outdoor formal/artsy pictures, many
different backgrounds are available. The food is
wonderful, as is the service, but this is set up like
a restaurant so the dance floor is a bit
restricted. They will be adding an outdoor tent
in the near future, which will make this location a

| For those wishing to have a fun beach
wedding, Osceola Beach in Jefferson Valley NY offers
one of the very rare venues where one can get married
on the sand. This location caters weddings with
mostly barbeque fare, and is for those just looking to
have fun and keep costs down at their wedding.
Currently, wedding photography is a bit challenging
here for very nice formals, but for candids,
especially if kids are invited, this is one of those
rare venues where a kid can just be a kid. |

| Natural light is a
big seller of the country club reception room at
Heritage Hills, as it fills the entire room with
plenty of it, giving any wedding a lovely outdoor
feel. A bit tight for any party of 125 people,
it is perfect for smaller affairs. The food is
very good, and service is attentive and polite.
Definitely check out The Pinnacle, especially for a
daytime wedding, in which the natural lighting lends
itself perfectly for wedding photography. |
